This project aims to strengthen the reproductive health supply chain in Myanmar to improve the availability of essential reproductive health (RH) commodities at service delivery points.

Previous technical assistance activities in pursuit of this goal were focused on assessing the current supply chain system for delivering RH commodities, and facilitating a participatory process to design and revise the existing supply chain system. JSI supported UNFPA and the MOHS to roll out the system, which included developing training materials (i.e., SOPs, curricula), training master trainers on the use of the system, providing coordination support to roll out the system in 12 pilot townships in four states/regions of UNFPA program areas, and supporting monitoring and evaluation of the pilot.

The JSI Myanmar team continues to provide technical assistance in strengthening the 12 pilot townships through refresher trainings, monitoring and supervision visits, and building the capacity of township staff to use the automated system.

In 2017, the project scaled up the system in 43 new townships in Kayah, Northern Shan and Kachin States, expanding implementation to 115 townships. Under this project, JSI will continue to provide technical support, monitoring, and evaluating the townships already in the system, while scaling up to 54 new townships, for a total of 169 townships.
