Muka Chikuba-McLeod Appointed JSI’s First Executive Vice President of International Programs

Margaret Crotty, JSI’s president and CEO, announced that Dr. Muka Chikuba-McLeod has been appointed JSI’s new executive vice president of international programs. In this role, Chikuba-McLeod will provide overall strategic and programmatic leadership for our international programs. She will ensure technical standards of excellence, enhance and standardize organizational processes for project implementation, and support JSI country programs to thrive.

Muka’s appointment, as the first executive leader based outside the United States, is a testament to JSI’s commitment to excellence and is a pivotal moment in our organization’s history,” said Crotty.

Chikuba-McLeod, based in Zambia, brings exceptional leadership, technical and clinical expertise, and experience managing large-scale projects. She is working with staff around the world to evolve the management structure for our international programs and elevate our global leadership.

I am excited about the journey as we work to leverage and support our global talent more effectively, and as we draw upon our expertise and passion to facilitate meaningful public health change,” said Chikuba-McLeod.

Chikuba-McLeod has served in various senior capacities at JSI since 2002, including chief of party for several of our largest global health initiatives and country representative in Zambia for five years. Her resume spans 30 years of experience in medicine, epidemiology, international health, and development and demonstrates a strong commitment to partnering with governments, civil society, the private sector, and communities. Chikuba-McLeod has a medical degree from the University of Zambia, an MPH in international health from Boston University, and an MSc in epidemiology from Harvard University.
