JSI Elects Four New Members to its Board of Directors

JSI, a leading international nonprofit organization in public health, education, and socio-economic opportunity, has announced the election of four new members to its accomplished board of directors.

“This outstanding group of directors joins our board amidst critical public health challenges, and brings diverse perspectives and invaluable expertise in the very fields that will ensure JSI’s continued success and impact,” says Sandro Galea, dean and Robert A. Knox Professor at the Boston University School of Public Health and JSI board chair.

“Our new directors will enrich JSI’s longstanding commitment to global health equity,” says Margaret Crotty, president and CEO of JSI. “These are the right people at the right time. Together, they will enhance our collective vision for the future and help us meet the global challenges we face today.”

Kulleni Gebreyes

Kulleni Gebreyes

Kulleni is a U.S. consulting life sciences and health care industry leader and the U.S. chief health equity officer with Deloitte. She is a physician executive who leads tech-enabled, digital transformation for life sciences and health care organizations. She holds an MD from Harvard Medical School and an MBA from Johns Hopkins. As a purpose-driven business leader, Kulleni has developed and implemented strategies for population health management and value-based care that are centered on whole-person care. She is a champion for health equity and an active advocate for vulnerable and underserved communities. Kulleni is a well-published thought leader and national spokesperson for aligning business success with better health for all. She is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Topsy is a seasoned systems change leader and transformation expert with over 20 years of global experience enabling Fortune 500 and government leaders to execute ambitious growth programs. Topsy leads Augmentum, Independent Investors & Value Creation Partners, where she facilitates capital injection for high-growth businesses and partners with them to maximize value creation through business model innovation, digital transformation, and restructuring. Previously, Topsy was a partner at McKinsey & Company and served as the inaugural co-lead of McKinsey’s payment practice for Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. She has held various executive roles in the financial services sector, including leading the design and implementation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s payments transformation program Cashless Lagos. She is passionate about digital technologies and empowering young Africans, recognizing how the effective combination can accelerate economic development, achieve Sustainable Development Goals, and transform African economies. Topsy is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Alina Rocha Menocal

Alina Rocha Menocal

Alina is an expert at bridging the divide between research and policy, particularly in the realm of governance from a political economy perspective. Her work contributes to more informed and effective engagement strategies among international development stakeholders with a focus on governance and institutional transformation, state and peace building, conflict dynamics, political settlements, anti-corruption initiatives, democratization, and political economy analysis. She is the director of the Thinking and Working Politically Community of Practice, which is hosted at the University of Birmingham. She is also senior research associate in politics and governance at ODI and principal at the Policy Practice. Originally from Mexico, Alina is based in London, England.

Nneka Mobisson

Nneka Mobisson

Nneka is a leader in quality improvement and population health management. An expert in the intersection of technology and wellness, she has a wealth of experience in digital health, underscored by a focus on artificial intelligence. A pediatrician by training, Nneka was the executive director for Africa at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, a leading organization focused on health care quality and where she still serves as faculty advisor. She also worked for the Connecticut Hospital Association and McKinsey & Company. Nneka is the co-founder and CEO of mDoc, a social enterprise that integrates proven methodologies in quality improvement and behavioral science with technology to optimize the self-care experience for people with chronic health needs. She is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The new members join a board of distinguished leaders in global public health and education. The JSI board of directors is responsible for strategic oversight and provides innovative thought leadership to each division, technical center, and affiliate that contributes to our mission.
