Client(s): Keiro Senior HealthCare
Service: Applied Research & Evaluation
Technical Expertise: Aging
For over five decades, Keiro, which translates to “respect for our elders,” has been a leading resource for the Japanese-American senior community in Los Angeles, providing quality culturally-sensitive options for senior care and wellness programming grounded in the values of the Japanese-American community. In recognition of the changing needs of a community increasingly aging at home, Keiro is transitioning away from a model of residential senior care to its Healthy Community - Healthy People model which promotes culturally-relevant and sustainable community-based and multigenerational programs that leverage and strengthen existing resources to transform the health and well-being of individuals, families, and the community at large. As part of this transition, Keiro is implementing the linkAges TimeBank, developed by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation David Druker Center for Health Innovation in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Keiro has contracted with JSI to provide evaluation strategy and implementation consulting services for the "linkAges TimeBank" and for Keiro's overall program model. JSI is also providing technical assistance in developing a summary of Keiro's programmatic approach, including a review of supporting evidence.
