When disaster strikes, public health and health care systems face a need to not only protect patients and ensure the continuity of ongoing services but also expand quickly to manage a surge in demand.
We work with public health and health care partners to prepare. Together, we develop and strengthen plans and procedures to be ready for any emergency, including floods, fires, terrorist attacks, and disease outbreaks.
We provide technical assistance on all aspects of public health and health care emergency preparedness and response. We help develop all-hazards plans and to implement health-focused jurisdictional risk assessments (JRAs) and hazard vulnerability assessments (HVAs) that reflect community needs and are based on national standards and guidelines.
JSI is proud to be supporting the U.S. public health system’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We strengthen capacity in areas such as community preparedness, infectious disease surveillance, emergency public information and warning, medical surge, countermeasures dispensing, non-pharmaceutical interventions, and volunteer management.
