Michelle Vatalaro Dawson has been with JSI since 2010. Specializing in curriculum development and distance learning, Michelle develops training and technical assistance programs for health care providers, health services organizations, and community organizations. Michelle also has expertise in the development and provision of training and technical assistance on the integration of substance use and mental health, and serves as communities of practice lead for the HRSA Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Technical Assistance. Michelle also led the development of the two In It Together health literacy training programs for people living with and at high-risk for HIV, and has developed, delivered, and evaluated training and technical assistance on community maternal and child health, trauma-informed care, neurodevelopmental disorders, and performance and quality improvement. Michelle has an MPH in behavioral science and health education from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and is a certified lactation counselor.
