Gender-Based Violence and Violence against Children: Facilitator’s Guide for Health Care Providers and Social Welfare Officers

Gender-based violence (GBV) has gained international recognition as a grave social and human rights concern. In Tanzania, GBV and violence against children (VAC) have become major problems due to negative cultural beliefs and practices, existing gender norms, and economic, social, and gender inequalities.

The use of this Facilitator’s Guide will provide guidance, effective facilitation, and learning modalities, knowledge, and skills required for GBV and VAC service trainers. The ultimate goal of this guide is to facilitate the creation of a pool of qualified health care providers and social welfare officers with competencies in providing quality comprehensive services to GBV and VAC survivors.
