AIDSFree Namibia End of Project Summary

This End of Project Summary presents The Strengthening High Impact Interventions for an AIDS-free Generation (AIDSFree) Project’s programmatic achievements in Namibia from August 1, 2014, to March 31, 2020. AIDSFree worked to improve upon its already successful efforts in various technical fields, including voluntary medical male circumcision and prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Managed by Abt Associates in Namibia, AIDSFree increased access to HIV services for out-of pocket and low-income clients by facilitating innovative partnerships between the public and private health sectors and by supporting VMMC outreach camping campaigns in rural remote areas. A total of 61,199 boys and men received safe, high-quality VMMC service – 6,110 in FY 2016, 12,328 in FY 2017, 19,365 in FY 2018, and 23,396 in FY 2019. AIDSFree advanced progress toward the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS’s 95-95-95 global goals. JSI/AIDSFree. 2020.
