This End of Project Summary presents The Strengthening High Impact Interventions for an AIDS-free Generation (AIDSFree) Project’s Mozambique VMMC programmatic achievements from May 1, 2016 to March 31, 2020. AIDSFree worked to improve upon its already successful efforts in various technical fields, including voluntary medical male circumcision and prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Managed by Jhpiego in Mozambique, AIDSFree advanced progress toward the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS’s 95-95-95 global goals. From April 2016 through September 2019, a total 351,407 VMMCs were conducted in Manica and Tete, significantly contributing VMMC prevalence in these province, which is reflected in national data and reported in surveys and studies conducted by health authorities, such as the National Survey on Prevalence, Behavioral Risks and Information about HIV and AIDS (INSIDA). JSI/AIDSFree. 2020.
