The Value of VAN: How Visibility and Analytics Networks Make Supply Chains Stronger

JSI’s IMPACT Team approach is one way that we are helping our partners to implement a visibility and analytics network (VAN), a concept that draws on the lessons of the private sector. The IMPACT team approach is a quality-improvement approach customized for public health supply chains that helps teams at different levels of the health system adopt a culture of continuous improvement by setting goals, selecting indicators to measure progress, and then using data to track and correct performance (watch the video). Based on our implementation in seven countries, we talk about how to create a data culture in our Devex opinion piece.

Partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, JSI led a workshop in Dakar on February 5–7 to discuss how VANs are being implemented in Francophone West and Central Africa, and to empower health leaders to take tangible steps to build their own VANs.
