The Wellness Pass Project, a partnership between Gavi, The Mastercard Corporation, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health and JSI, is looking to increase the relevance and value of a client-owned digital health tool in tracking and improving COVID-19 and routine immunization visits, particularly among women and children. The Wellness Pass is a chip-enhanced e-card, carried by clients, which can be used at immunization visits and enables offline portability of individual immunization records. The project, launched in the Addis Ababa Region, aims to strengthen continuity of care and increase agility of the health system to create wider access to vaccines. The Wellness Pass solution will strengthen continuity of care and immunization among two million clients.
