Effective risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) enables uptake of key COVID-19 protective behaviors and critical interventions and bolsters trust in and use of essential health services. This project supports Ethiopia to improve adherence to COVID-19 prevention measures, interrupt transmission, and reduce vaccine hesitancy through effective RCCE approaches.
The project will strengthen compliance with COVID-19 mitigation efforts, resulting in strengthened health system capacity to interrupt transmission and maintain essential health services.
The project works closely with the Federal Ministry of Health, the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, regional health bureaus, and the Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations, a local partner focused on gender equality and inclusivity, to ensure gender-sensitive communications that address challenges faced by women and girls at household and community levels.
