SUMMARY

JSI, in partnership with the Georgia Health Policy Center, is conducting a rapid investigation to inform the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Aligning Systems for Health initiative. The majority of multi-sector health initiatives identify a set of four principles – or core components – that are similar to what is described in the Aligning for Health theory of change: purpose, data, financing, governance. However, there is little clarity or consistent guidance regarding the systematic development and operationalization of these elements. Additionally, equity is frequently cited as a guiding principle or objective, yet there is a lack of clear strategy for how to advance equity through multi-sector efforts. JSI will be conducting a literature scan and series of qualitative interviews with representatives from three national multi-sector collaboratives to understand their experiences and strategies related to developing the four core components and advancing equity.
