Since 1982, JSI has been worked with the GOE and USAID to improve health of Egyptian families. This collaboration facilitated the success of JSI’s first project in Egypt, the Egypt National Control of Diarrheal Diseases Project, and subsequent projects that improved health outcomes for Egyptian women and children.

The celebration was a time to reflect on the achievements of the previous 35 years, and Dr. Abbas spoke of the MOHP’s vision of continued partnership with JSI, which currently works with the MOHP and the National Population Council on the USAID-funded Strengthening Egypt’s Family Planning Program (SEFPP) activity. SEFPP aims to improve access to family planning services, including counseling and method mix, through evidence-based planning and policy formulation.
