Diane Hedgecock
(1944–2008)
Diane dedicated her life to improving maternal health and child survival. In her role as senior technical advisor, Diane shepherded successful JSI projects such as the Romania Family Health Initiative, the BASICS child survival program, the Cambodia Community Outreach project, and the African portfolio of countries under SEATS. She received her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which awarded her the prestigious Sydney S. Chipman award. In 2000, Diane became the deputy director of JSI’s Washington, DC office. Diane worked at JSI from 1985 until her death in 2008.
