Urban Immunization in DRC, Immunization Center
Produced By: Matthew Baek
VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
To address the needs of DRC’s growing urban population, JSI with a series of global partners provided technical assistance to develop an urban immunization toolkit. The toolkit, designed to improve immunization coverage and equity in urban areas included: 1) plan coordination and management of resources, 2) reach all eligible populations, 3) engage with communities, 4) monitor and use data for action, and 5) provide supportive supervision. The approach was implemented in 2020-2021 and developed promising results in three priority urban areas of DRC. At the start of 2022, the Ministry of Health of DRC expanded the approach to three new districts with more innovations to reach under-immunized and unimmunized populations.
