The interconnectedness of global health supply chains and climate change is undeniable. Climate change-related events can cause humanitarian crises and affect supply chains; supply chains contribute to climate change by producing vast amounts of greenhouse gases and waste.

Edward Wilson, JSI’s director of health logistics, will explain how climate change is accelerating the need to redesign the global health supply chain at the upcoming 45th SAPICS Annual Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

“Key improvements, such as developing additional manufacturing and distribution resources from inception to delivery and in collaboration with government and business leaders, can ease disruption to life-saving health product and medicine delivery when it is needed most,” said Edward.

Edward will be joined by Genpact’s Deborah Dull, vice president and global supply chain sustainability leader, at a session on June 12 at 2:30 pm local time in Hall B.

SAIPICS, the leading African supply chain management event, convenes hundreds of professionals to exchange ideas and experiences in all things supply chain.
