Strengthening Services Through Renovated Health Facilities in Liberia

On March 21, JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. through the Advancing Partners & Communities project and the World Health Organization dedicated a refurbished and well-equipped medical laboratory at the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Liberia.

JSI has been helping to strengthen the health system and services in Liberia since 2006 and is currently implementing the Ebola Transmission Prevention and Survivor Services program for Ebola survivors. The laboratory at the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama City, Lofa County, is now equipped to analyze blood chemistry, liver and kidney function tests, parasitology, blood cultures. There is also a a blood bank. WHO renovated and equipped the microbiology side of the laboratory.
