Strengthening Supply Chains at the Community Level: Findings from the SC4CCM Project in Malawi, Rwanda and Ethiopia

In 2009, the Supply Chains for Community Case Management (SC4CCM) project, with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, set out to increase availability of key medicines and commodities for treatment and management of sick children at the community level in three sub-Saharan Africa countries: Malawi, Ethiopia and Rwanda. This report includes results from evaluations in all three countries to show the progression in the project’s understanding of successful community level supply chain practices over the course of five years. The report also includes an addendum, called Lessons Learned for Implementers, that outlines practical tips and solutions to further aid those who wish to use these findings and to make their work successful and sustainable.
