Building Healthy Cities: Project Accomplishments Report

Since 2017, the USAID-funded Building Healthy Cities (BHC) project has worked to improve healthy urban planning in four rapidly growing Smart Cities in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Nepal. This work is critical because as the world urbanizes, cities must be able to address the urban challenges that affect citizens’ health in an organized, coordinated way. These challenges include infrastructure constraints, pollution, health care, and transportation issues, and are a particular threat to the health of vulnerable populations, including women and children. As the project comes to a close, we are confident that it has left a lasting legacy, and the good work we began with our city partners will continue. This final report summarizes key project and partner city accomplishments over the last five years.
