SUMMARY

Zambia’s Ministry of Health is committed to providing health services to all Zambians. A strong supply chain system is key to achieving improvements in the quality of both curative and preventive health services.

The Electronic Supply Chain Management Information System (eSCMIS) project aims to create an efficient and reliable health supply chain using a next-generation logistics management information system. The project works to equip the Government of the Republic of Zambia to independently make data-driven supply chain decisions and to eventually own the eSCMIS data and reporting mechanisms. A safe, secure, reliable, and sustainable supply chain system will ensure the availability of essential medicines, laboratory commodities, and malaria, HIV&AIDS, and family planning products at health facilities throughout Zambia.

eSCMIS is funded by USAID and implemented by John Snow Health Zambia Limited (JSH). JSH is an indigenous company legally registered in Zambia. The mission of JSH is to improve the health of individuals and communities in Zambia through provision of public health and consultation services and research. JSH works in partnership with JSI and the Churches Health Association of Zambia.
