SUMMARY

The objective of this technical assistance (TA) was to conduct a robust diagnostics exercise of the current challenges in accessing immunization services facing urban poor living in the Ashanti, Western, Volta, and Greater Accra regions.

Stakeholder engagement throughout the participatory process was critical to success. This included consultation and information sharing with key stakeholders at all levels.

JSI prepared a diagnostic methodology, which was implemented to develop detailed findings and recommendations on policy, strategy, service delivery, and other changes or additions required to sustainably increase immunization coverage for the urban poor. The results of the diagnostic exercise were the basis of a 12-month TA workplan which incorporated the jointly-developed recommendations.

This work was implemented in close collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, partners, and stakeholders.
