SUMMARY

The USAID Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Populations (CHEKUP II) Activity led by JSI partner and affiliate, John Snow Health Zambia, LTD. is addressing the needs of people living with HIV and those most at risk of acquiring HIV while contributing to HIV mitigation and epidemic control. Specifically, CHEKUP II seeks to improve the health outcomes of priority and key populations in Zambia with the highest HIV burdens and in high HIV burden provinces by preventing new HIV infections and ensuring that all PLHIV are identified, diagnosed, linked to treatment, and achieve viral suppression.

Under CHEKUP II, JSI is working to build the organizational and technical capacity of local partners and sub-grantees, including civil society organizations working with key populations. We do this through establishing capacity-strengthening partnerships, conducting tailored capacity assessments, and facilitating capacity action planning to address gaps and improve performance over time. Key capacity strengthening methods include skills training, virtual and on-site mentorship and technical assistance, peer learning, and linkages to resources.
