JSI began working in Guinea in the late 1980s, through the USAID-funded Resources for Child Health (REACH) Project, which implemented wide-scale immunization and acute respiratory infection control systems. Other JSI projects in the country have focused on infant and child health as well as reproductive health, family planning, and the prevention of gender-based violence among refugee populations.

In recent years, JSI has supported the Ministry of Health in Guinea through USAID’s Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP) and through the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT’s Supply Chain Strengthening & Commodity Security initiative, which has ensured a reliable, sustainable stream of essential health commodities to those in need.
