JSI is proud to be part of the the Maine Shared Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The Maine Shared CHNA is like no other in the nation in that it is the only statewide public-private partnership —bringing together four major hospital systems and Maine Centers for Disease Control with the goal to turn data into action in order to 1) create Shared Community Health Needs Assessment Reports; 2) engage and activate communities, and 3) support data-driven health improvement plans and implementation strategies for Maine people.

The vision of the Maine Shared CHNA is that Maine Shared Community Health Needs Assessment is the tool used for health planning by all people and agencies across the state.

Natalie Truesdell will lead the John Snow, Inc. (JSI) team in conducting data analysis and supporting the community engagement process through the following tactics:

  • Implementing an in-depth needs assessment and engaging communities through forums, survey and interviews
  • Facilitating 21 community forums across the state
  • Compiling 200 health indicators
  • Developing up to 26 data profiles, including one for each of the 16 counties in Maine

After the qualitative data is compiled from the forums and other community engagement activities, JSI will be creating state and county, and public health district-level reports. The reports will be made public at the Maine Center for Disease Control website. Learn more information on Maine Shared Community Health Needs Assessment and JSI’s support.
