Technical Director, International
Zenaw Adam is the technical director of the Universal Immunization through Improving Family Health Services in Ethiopia. After more than 10 years of service with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health and the Faculty of Medicine at Addis Ababa University, his career turned to international public health, in particular immunization and disease surveillance and control. Over his extensive career, Zenaw has worked with organizations including Canadian International Development Agency and the World Health Organization for Africa and Eastern Mediterranean Regions, and on assignments in Yemen, East Timor, Egypt, Pakistan, South Sudan, Tanzania, and the Republic of Congo as a consultant, national immunization focal person, and measles control program manager. Prior to JSI, Zenaw was the African regional coordinator for the H1N1 vaccine deployment program under the joint MCHIP/USAID and WHO/AFRO Region in Brazzaville, Congo. Zenaw has an MPH, an MSc, and a PhD.
