Durrell J. Fox is a community health worker (CHW) with over 30 years of experience providing outreach, direct services, case management support, and advocacy for HIV+ adolescents/young adults and their families and communities. He has been involved in local, state, regional, and national CHW workforce development efforts, including serving as a founding member of the CHW Section of the American Public Health Association, the American Association of CHWs, the MA Association of CHWs, the New England (NE) CHW Coalition, and the advisory workgroup for the MA CHW Board of Certification. Durrell is also a member of the CHW National Core Consensus project team, a founding board member of the National Association of CHWs, a board member of MHP Salud, and a member of the American Diabetes Association National Health Disparities Council. He has served as an adjunct faculty member of the Holyoke Community College Foundations of Health CHW certificate program and UMASS Amherst’s NE Public Health Training Center CHW Core Training Course and the Center For Health Impact Outreach Worker Training Institute CHW Core Training Program.
