Tanvi Pandit-Rajani, JSI’s international lead for private sector and health markets, is featured in a story by the American India Foundation, “20 Years of Serve-Learn-Lead: Tanvi Pandit-Rajani.”

In the article, Tanvi reflects on her 20 years of global work experience. After traveling to Uganda to work with young people on HIV and pregnancy prevention during graduate school, Tanvi’s professional career took off. At her first assignment in Bhuj, India, Tanvi assisted in disaster relief following a devastating earthquake. Tanvi recounts that her time in Bhuj reinforced her appreciation for the sub-field of public health that works in post-disaster settings.

In the interview, Tanvi says, “Ultimately, it’s about ensuring that people have reliable, affordable access to basic healthcare as well as the right information to make well-informed decisions. The system challenges are complex. Health systems are fragmented and in many of the countries where we work are not particularly efficient when it comes to how products, services, and information are delivered, funded, and monitored.”

Tanvi has been with JSI since 2014. She uses approaches such as human-centered design to engage public and private sector actors, including clients, to find solutions to complex health system challenges.
