The JSI Center for Environmental Health Studies conducted a Market Analysis and Needs Assessment to inform the development of K-12 and teacher professional development programs for the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (WBNERR). JSI conducted focus groups, key informant interviews, and a Cape Cod wide survey to gather information that will be used to: 1) increase the level of environmental awareness and stewardship among Cape Cod young people; 2) encourage mutual awareness and cooperation among Cape Cod nonprofits that address environmental awareness and stewardship; and 3) enhance the ability and willingness of people to make informed decisions and take responsible actions that affect coastal communities and ecosystems [on Cape Cod], Goal 3 of the WBNERR strategic plan.
