The Positive Aging Resource Center is part of an initiative of the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to improve the quality of mental health services for the elderly. While more than six million older adults suffer from mental health conditions, many do not receive the quality care they need or deserve. JSI, in conjunction with Brigham and Women's Hospital, was the Resource Center for this national initiative. The Resource Center's multifaceted role included the provision of leadership, administrative support, and technical expertise to nine clinical sites across the country, as well as to national provider and consumer groups.
