In 2009, the Massachusetts Asthma Prevention and Control Program (APCP) received a new five-year grant award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Asthma Control Program. The CDC grant supports the APCP to conduct program evaluation activities, including developing a comprehensive, five-year evaluation plan, as well as development and implementation of evaluation plans for specific program initiatives. MDPH contracted JSI to assist in conducting these evaluation activities, which aligned closely with the Program's goals. JSI collaborated closely with APCP and stakeholders as a team throughout the evaluation process to ensure an utilization-focused evaluation following the framework outlined in the CDC Learning and Growing through Evaluation: State Asthma Program Evaluation Guide.
