JSI was contracted by the Behavioral Health Network, a leading health care provider in the Palmer/Ware area of Central Massachusetts, to conduct a community health needs assessment and to explore the possibility of applying for federal funding to support a Federally Qualified Health Center. JSI staff worked with a community coalition to identify the leading health care concerns and assess the extent to which there are primary care shortages and barriers to access, particularly for low-income populations in the area. Ultimately, the goal of the project was to provide guidance to the Community Coalition on how it could work together to expand access to quality, well-integrated primary care services to residents in the greater Palmer Ware area.
