The Rhode Island Department of Health has the responsibility to protect and promote the health of the people residing in Rhode Island. To accomplish this, the Department must have access to timely and valid measures of health and access that are indicators of progress toward this goal. These include measures of health outcomes, health-related behaviors, and the performance of health systems.

JSI has been selected by the Department to provide analytical and program support as it seeks to assess disease and disability in the population, assure a safe and healthy environment, assure access to quality health services for all, and promote healthy behaviors.
