The Northwest Colorado Community Health Project (NCCHP) engaged JSI to conduct an assessment of its current health information technology (HIT) assets and infrastructure in the Northwest Colorado region. JSI assessed the healthcare services and HIT capabilities of seven representative healthcare and social services facilities.

JSI's recommendations focused on three primary activities that are critical to the successful development of the NCCHP regional network of care and associated HIE infrastructure. First, NCCHP must continue to work with their collaborative leadership group to ensure that the necessary resources and skill sets required to define and sustain the long term direction of the collaborative are sustained. Second, NCCHP must review and prioritize the recommended set of health information exchange initiatives and prioritize them based on a series of critical considerations. Third, NCCHP must develop a strategic framework and business plan that ensures the long term viability and success of the regional network of care.
