The IPHCA contracted with JSI to develop and conduct a training program for Indiana Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) staff to assess health center financial viability and efficiency using Uniform Data System (UDS) data and reports. With this training, IPHCA staff will be able to better assist health centers to improve operational effectiveness. The consultant conducted a training with IPHCA staff and provided materials which can be used annually to train new staff and serve as a refresher for current staff. The training instructed participants on how to use UDS data reports to assess efficiency of:

  • Staffing levels and staff mix
  • Provider productivity and panel size
  • Cost effectiveness and financial viability
  • Quality of care as measured by key performance measures in the UDS
