Over the past 15 years, JSI has worked with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's (MDPH) Office of HIV/AIDS (OHA) to evaluate the quality of HIV care provided in publicly funded HIV clinics in Massachusetts.

A team of JSI data abstractors conduct medical record reviews and collect data specific to established core clinical performance indicators. JSI team members are responsible for data management, data analysis and generation of site specific performance measure reports. The performance measure data assist MDPH OHA in assessing the quality of and retention of clients in care, and allow MDPH to implement necessary quality improvement activities to ensure people living with HIV receive the highest quality of care. For this project period, JSI is conducting medical record abstractions at 14 sites and reviewing medical records for 700 randomly selected patients.
