With support from Blue Shield of California Foundation, JSI works in close collaboration with California Primary Care Association (CPCA) and California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (CAPH) to advance and prepare for payment reform and delivery system transformation in California's safety net, with the ultimate goals of improving patient access, experience and quality outcomes while preventing avoidable use of inpatient and emergency services. Building on years of research and stakeholder engagement, JSI currently provides technical support to CPCA and CAPH in policy discussions with managed care Medi-Cal plans and California's Department of Health Care Services regarding Senate Bill 147 which would enable a payment reform pilot for select health centers in California under an Alternative Payment Methodology (APM).
