This video is from the CAPACITY and TUMAR projects, implemented by JSI and partners in Central Asia. Both projects are striving to reduce the effect of the HIV epidemics in the region and to improve the lives of Most-At-Risk Populations (MARP) and People Living with HIV (PLWH). This short video clip demonstrates the negative impact of stigma and discrimination against PLWH in Central Asia and that PLWH should be treated the same as everyone else in social situations. The video has been played on television in several Central Asian countries and is used in clinics and drop-in-centers. The text in the version shown here is in Russian, but it has also been translated into Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, and Uzbek languages.
