Supporting the Continuum of Care: Building Ryan White Program Grantee Capacity to Enroll Eligible Clients in Affordable Care Act Health Coverage Programs

September 26, 2013

JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI)  has been awarded a three-year, $5.4 million cooperative agreement to help Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program grantees enroll minority clients into expanded health insurance programs.

JSI's Ryan White Affordable Care Enrollment (ACE) project will conduct a needs assessment, examine current best practices, and develop strategies, tools, and training to build the capacity of Ryan White grantees and providers to enroll clients in expanded health insurance programs under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Together with its knowledgeable and committed partners, Community Catalyst, Health Care for All, the National Council of La Raza, and Northeastern University’s Institute on Urban Health Research and Practice, JSI will provide technical assistance across all stages of the health coverage access continuum (outreach, enrollment assistance, post-enrollment support, and renewal/re-enrollment).

JSI and its partners bring over 20 years of experience working with Ryan White grantees and HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau, as well as recent, practical experience studying and implementing best practices for culturally competent outreach and enrollment of eligible minority people living with HIV into new insurance options.

We are pleased to continue supporting HRSA and its partner HHS agencies and national organizations, as well as the ACA and the National HIV/AIDS Strategy with this latest collaborative initiative.
