Improving Immunization Service Delivery for Urban Poor in Ghana

Country: Ghana

Client(s): Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance

Service: Technical Assistance

Technical Expertise: Immunization

The objective of this technical assistance (TA) is to conduct a robust diagnostics exercise of the current challenges in accessing immunization services facing urban poor living in the Ashanti, Western, Volta, and Greater Accra regions.

Stakeholder engagement throughout the participatory process will be the critical to success. This includes consultation and information sharing with key stakeholders at all levels.

JSI will first prepare a diagnostic methodology, which, once validated, will be implemented to develop detailed findings and recommendations on policy, strategy, service delivery, and other changes or additions required to sustainably increase immunization coverage for the urban poor. The results of the diagnostic exercise will be the basis of a 12-month TA workplan which will incorporate the jointly-developed recommendations.

This work will be implemented in close collaboration with the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis, partners, and stakeholders.
