Adolescent pregnancy carries significant educational, economic, social, and health-related consequences for both the pregnant or parenting adolescent and their children. In an effort to prevent adolescent pregnancy and improve the outcomes for parenting adolescents and their children, Title XX provided funding to Adolescent Family Life (AFL) grantees for demonstration and research projects that focused on the prevention of adolescent pregnancy and on interventions for pregnant and parenting adolescents, their babies, and their families. Oversight for these projects rested with The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Population Affairs, Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs (OAPP). In order to provide AFL grantees with a robust knowledge base, OAPP contracted with JSI to provide conference logistics support services to conduct an Annual Conference for AFL grantees.
JSI was responsible for the development and implementation of an annual conference that met the needs of OAPP and its AFL grantees. In providing conference logistics support, JSI created the project plan and schedule with OAPP, developed white papers for the conference, managed conference logistics, managed conference consultants, developed conference materials and post-conference materials, and provided feedback through an evaluation.
