There has been a lack of information concerning the content and amount of HIV prevention activities done within the school setting in Colorado. Colorado Youth Matter (CYM) - formerly the Colorado Organization of Adolescent Pregnancy, Parenting and Prevention - seeking to identify gaps in HIV prevention education, received state funding to assess HIV prevention education in rural schools and school districts. CYM hired JSI to design and implement an on-line survey and key stakeholder interviews targeting rural school districts. The information gathered helped CYM and state and local partner organizations identify education gaps and their causes in HIV prevention education delivered throughout Colorado, possible root challenges, barriers, and identify resources to fill these gaps.
