JSI was selected by the University of Michigan to deliver a virtual training of facilitators (TOF) through the Second Life software for the ¡Cuídate! intervention.

¡Cuídate! (Take Care of Yourself!) is an evidence-based program that targets Latino youth through interactive activities designed to increase their knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and skills around HIV and teen pregnancy prevention.

JSI has been involved with Cuídate! since the first pilot of the intervention, working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to finalize and implement the curricula; with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the PI to adopt it as part of the CDC’s Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI), and then later to develop and implement the training of trainers curriculum. JSI also assisted with reviewing intervention materials for the development of the second edition of the program's manuals. This time, JSI was involved by bringing the TOF to a virtual experience.

JSI delivered four live-online training sessions of the TOF Second Edition curriculum between July 15 and October 15, 2013.
