Cuídate! (Take Care of Yourself!) is an evidence-based intervention that targets Latino youth through interactive activities designed to increase their knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and skills around HIV and teen pregnancy prevention.

JSI has been involved with Cuídate! since the first pilot of the intervention, working closely with the principal investigator (PI) to finalize and implement the curricula; with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and PI to adopt it as part of the CDC’s Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI) and then later to develop and implement the training of trainers curriculum.

As masters trainers of Cuídate! since 2007, JSI has provided numerous trainings of facilitators and trainers, including one for staff at the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board, Inc. (AAIHB). As part of this project, JSI assisted AAIHB to adapt Cuídate! for Native American youth.
