Health Commodities Management Information System Call Center: Cost Effective and Sustainable User Support
The Health Commodities Management Information System (HCMIS)—a locally developed, inventory and information management software—was implemented in almost 500 health centers and hospitals throughout Ethiopia. Needing a centralized support system for the HCMIS, the project, in collaboration with Pharmaceutical Fund and Supply Agency and the Ethiopian Telecommunication Agency, launched a toll-free helpline. This brief discusses how the helpline has not only improved customer service and resulted in less system downtime, but has also proved to be cost-effective. JSI / USAID | DELIVER PROJECT, 2014.
