December 13, 2012
On December 3, 2012, the Salud Mesoamerica 2015 Initiative (SM2015) and JSI'sUSAID | DELIVER PROJECT launched an initiative to ensure the reliable availability of medicines and commodities related to maternal and child health in Central America. The joint proposal was welcomed by the Council of Central American Health Ministers (COMISCA) at a health summit held in Managua, Nicaragua.
The proposed collaborative will support COMISCA's Subregional Technical Committee for Medicines (CTSM), which facilitates pooled procurement and facility coordination in the region.
The USAID | DELIVER PROJECT, implemented by John Snow, Inc., will provide strategic, technical, and financial assistance to this coordinated effort.
