Learn more about how JSI is impacting public health in India.

Home to over 1 billion people, India is on track to become the most populous country in the world by 2030. As the population continues to grow, India faces the difficult task of building institutional and systems capacity for improving and managing public health with the increased challenge of rapid urbanization.

Over the last three decades, John Snow, Inc. (JSI) has partnered with India’s government, private sector, international development partners, and community leaders to strengthen the health system and improve the overall health of India’s population. To deepen our partnership with India, we established John Snow India Private Limited (JSI India) in 2013 to improve project coordination, ground our global technical expertise with local knowledge of community needs and on-the-ground realities, and to more efficiently disseminate tools, techniques, technologies, and resources.

JSI India leverages our global expertise for implementing complex public health programs at scale to provide ongoing support for India’s efforts to improve maternal, newborn and child health, strengthen the routine immunization system, introduce lifesaving vaccines to prevent childhood illnesses, reduce the spread of communicable diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis and measles, improve nutrition for children in the first 1000 days, and build capacity for managing complex supply chains.
