Capacity Development: Our approach

Sustainable capacity development is a collaborative process requiring time, commitment, and mutual respect. The most impactful results are achieved in partnership, and this vision of partnership guides our relationships with governments, donors, local organizations and implementers.

Every institution has its own identity, processes, and culture. Thus, while JSI and World Education have standard tools and processes based on our combined experience spanning almost a century, we also customize our approaches to meet specific organizational needs and to fit culture and context. We use an iterative approach to building capacity: assessing, strengthening, and supporting implementation, designing or adapting practices, measuring effectiveness of outcomes, reassessing and redesigning tools and support. We conduct trainings, provide mentorship and technical resources and ongoing follow up support, as appropriate, to fill identified gaps. Partners are engaged in every step of the process.
