Emergency Preparedness & Response Consultant

Description

JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) is seeking an expert in health care and public health emergency preparedness; HSEEP-compliant exercise development, implementation, and evaluation; and adult training program development and implementation using a variety of modalities and media. Position will be based in one of JSI's eight U.S.-based offices

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing technical assistance to health care and public health clients in all aspects of emergency preparedness, response, and continuity of operations plan development;
  • Development, implementation, and evaluation of HSEEP-compliant exercises;
  • Development and implementation of training programs using adult learning modalities to build health care and public health emergency preparedness competencies; and
  • New project development, including proposal writing and budget development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience with health care preparedness and public health emergency preparedness, with a focus on development of emergency operations plans and continuity of operations plans
  • Experience designing and implementing training programs; excellent training and facilitation skills
  • 7–10 years of experience developing, implementing, and evaluating discussion-based and operations-based exercises
  • ICS or HICS and HSEEP certification
  • Proven grant writing skills
  • Developing country experience preferred
