Description

Background: The Strengthening High Impact Interventions for an AIDS-free Generation (AIDSFree) Project is a five-year cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (2014-2019). AIDSFree is implemented by JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. with partners Abt Associates, Inc., Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, EnCompass LLC, IMA World Health, The International HIV/AIDS Alliance, Jhpiego Corporation, and PATH. AIDSFree supports and advances implementation of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief by providing capacity development and technical support to USAID missions, hostcountry governments, and HIV implementers at the local, regional, and national level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

AIDSFree is seeking an experienced Condom Distribution/IPC Advisor to lead the project’s condom distribution and programming activities in the project focal districts. The Advisor will lead a large team of IPC agents. Specific responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Provide leadership for IPC activities in local community councils in Maseru and Berea.
  • Recruit, train and supervise IPC agents
  • Lead condom programming activities in male dominated workplaces and settings
  • Organize condom distribution in 5 project districts; manage distribution partnerships to ensure condoms reach targeted CSWs, AGYW and men.
  • Manage condom and lubricant warehousing and supply.
  • Manage data collection system for condom distribution and programming.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in public health and/or supply chain management for health commodities
  • Familiarity with the Stepping Stone IPC curriculum
  • Demonstrated skills in evidence-based behavior change communications
  • Strong understanding of DREAMS-funded project implementation
  • Excellent English communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities and staff members in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent teamwork and team-building skills
